Syllabus
·
·    Zen Judo’s goal is to bring a persons body and mind together to conserve energy and develop body control. Zen Judo uses the aggressors’ strength to neutralise the aggression.

·    The Zen Judo Family is a very close knit organisation enjoying a friendly atmosphere both on and off the mat. There are basic etiquette rules (reishiki) observed in the dojo and a grading syllabus (kata) to be followed throughout practices.

·    Students learn to be respectful of each other’s efforts, and to take their practice as a good form of discipline for life. As they progress, students are awarded different coloured belts that attest to their increased knowledge and performance skills and to their general disposition towards helping others progress.
All members are deemed to have accepted the objectives of the Zen Judo Family, which are:

 1.     To develop the spirit and practice of Zen Judo along traditional lines.
 2.     To demonstrate that Zen Judo is beneficial both mentally and physically.
 3.     To Promote the skills and abilities of Zen Judo without the application of unnecessary force
          or strength
 4.     To Promote friendship and co-operation between all members of the Zen Judo Family.
