This groundwork Kata is a short simple Kata of immense value to this very beginner or advanced student. When teaching children and beginners do not give the moves any names ,show them and get them to copy your moves   ( Monkey see Monkey do).

Do not be to technical the Kata will teach them movement into and out of ground holds with out them realizing it also make it fun to do.

Total beginners can pick this Kata in a simple form up in one lesson after that use it as a warm up or break from the normal class lessons

Advanced students should be able to use this Kata as a training tool for the correct use of arm locks/strangles/ground holds, It teaches technique, how to think ahead, how to escape from holds When the Kata is complete why not try the Kata to the left or add more moves?
